Hello Christian Coffee Lovers!
There are many ways to make a cup of tasty coffee. One of our favorite ways is called The French Press, and today we want to share with you the process of how to make it!
Before getting into the process of the French Press, I want to first start with a little history about it. You would think that, due to its name, that the french press is French, right? Well, not necessarily.
The history of the French Press is not as cut and dry as one might think. Legend tells of a Frenchman who, after boiling his coffee, realized he was simply boiling water.
He had forgotten to put the coffee beans into the boiling water, and so instead he used a metal screen from a passing Italian merchant to create the first French Press.
Because of this legend, both the French and the Italians have laid claim to the French Press. Obviously, the French won, as it is called The French Press, however it is still a contested topic between the French and the Italians.
A very interesting legend!
Unfortunately, no one knows the truth, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the French Press. In fact, dare I say, the mystery behind it makes it taste even better.
A French Press coffee is a coffee brewed by passing hot water through ground coffee beans held in a screen or "press".
The plunger or piston-style filter forces the grounds to the bottom of the press, while the coffee remains in contact with the water long enough to extract its oils and flavors.
This type of brewing produces a stronger, more flavorful cup of coffee than other methods.
To make a great French Press coffee, there are a few simple steps to follow.
